The Temple of Hermes from the film ‘The Valley of the Thracian Temples’ comes to life in a painting
The Temple of Hermes, which ‘The Ancient Civilization’ presented in its second film - ‘The Valley of the Thracian Temples’, has been recreated in a magnificent painting.
The work is by an artist who gave everything of herself, drew on all her knowledge and all her energy, and managed to depict the temple on canvas just as it was 2,500 years ago - just as our forefathers built it, with enormous effort, resources and faith.
It was by the god Hermes that our kings swore, declaring that they descended from him.
The Temple of Hermes is a real archaeological site with a preserved granite foundation, pedestals for the columns, parts of the columns themselves, a partially preserved inner building, as well as other ornaments. It was built 25 centuries ago on the plateau of a peak in our homeland.
